In an Instagram post, the thespian said he was set to go into rap music and vowed that his tracks would revive the genre, which superstar singer Wizkid said was dead.
Recall that Nigerian music icon Wizkid, in an interview with 10 magazine, said he doesn’t listen to rap because the genre is “dead, boring, and tired.”
Rap, according to the Made in Lagos star, is becoming extinct, and Afrobeats have surpassed all other music genres to become the new pop.
Reacting, Yul Edochie, who has made a name for himself in the Nigerian movie industry, said he’s delving into music to revive rap.
He also noted that he’ll be releasing his debut track soon.
“@wizkidayo said Rap music is dead. Well I’m about to wake it up. The entire system will be shut down. Album dropping soon. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥”. He captioned the video of him rapping.

Meanwhile, this comes after Yul announced that time has come for him to fulfill his calling as a minister of God.
The thespian, who stated this in a trending video, revealed that many years ago he had a call to serve as a minister of God, but he ignored it because he thought it was not the right time.
Edochie claimed that recently the call intensified, and he’s now convinced that the time for him to heed the call has come.
He said he has come to the realization that God has given him overall prosperity so he may use it to promote the gospel and that the remaining days of his life will be used to achieve that purpose.
He further revealed he will not quit his acting career as a minister of God but will ensure his movies promote God’s word. Read here.
