The Milwaukee Bucks beat the defending NBA champions Golden State Warriors 128-111 on Tuesday. Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 30 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists in just under 30 minutes of play.
After Tuesday’s game, Giannis became the player with the most minutes played for the Milwaukee Bucks franchise with a total of 22,113. He surpassed Bucks legend Bob Dandridge, who played 22,094. Giannis is in his 10th season in the NBA; Dandridge played just nine, but like Giannis, accomplished a lot in that time.
“Playing the most minutes in a Bucks jersey ever, that’s huge,” Antetokounmpo said. “It doesn’t matter what you’ve done, when you feel like you’ve contributed to a team, to the history of this team. It’s an honor to have that accomplishment.”
This adds to the already-long list of the 28-year-old’s franchise records. Giannis is the first in minutes, points, blocks, free throws, and triple-doubles. He is only second in field goals, rebounds, and assists, so it seems like just a matter of time before he breaks those records, too.
