The Imo State Police Command has launched manhunt for the killers of the House of Assembly candidate for Onuimo Local Government Area, Christopher Elehu, popularly known as Wasco.
The command’s spokesperson, Micheal Abattam, who confirmed the killing to our correspondent, said the police had begun an investigation into the murder of the LP candidate with a view to apprehending the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
Abattam, who condemned the murder of Elehu, assured that his killers would be caught.
He said, “The command has launched an investigation into his killing. We are assuring the members of the public that his killers will be caught. We are on top of the situation.”
Gunmen suspected to be hired killers had struck on Friday, killing the Labour Party candidate for Onuimo House of Assembly of Imo state candidate, Christopher Elehu.
Apart from killing him, the gunmen also set his country home ablaze and destroyed his property including a motorcycle.
