Topdeal College, Ikorodu, Lagos, has advised its graduands to proceed to higher institutions.
Speaking at the fifth valedictory ceremony of the college, The Proprietor, Dr Oladeji Akinola, told the graduands not to end their education at secondary school education.
Akinola advised the graduands not to forget their root and all the impact of the school on them.
“It will be our great delight and utmost pride to hear good news from you in the nearest future. To achieve that, the advice is, never forget your root. Your root refers to your origin of inspiration and nurturing. I, therefore, urge you to reflect on the experiences you have had in Topdeal College; from JSS1 to SS3. Never make your education end here, seek education at higher levels, and resist making miscreants and hooligans your friends.
“Today, as you go forth, remember to uphold the good name of the school and your name. This great citadel of learning has produced doctors, lawyers, nurses, and engineers in the tertiary institution and the school shall expect you to join hands with the other sets,” he added.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Forum, Mr Emmanuel Alabi, admonished the outgoing students to be careful of the friends they make when they get into higher institutions.
“Be careful with the kind of friends you make especially as you move into tertiary institutions, for bad companions ruin good character. Shun cultism and stay away from disruptive behaviour and ignoble lifestyles. Make friends with those who can challenge and influence you positively to greater heights. As I have always told you, be very careful in the choices you make in life, for they can either make or mar you. Always make choices based on the deeper conviction that the option before you is approved by God and acceptable by men in all circumstances.”
Topdeal College graduated a total of 64 students and Benita George was the best graduating student.
