The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but it was gathered that it started at about 6am on Saturday.
An eyewitness in the area said the fire emanated from a corner of the building before it escalated to where the foams were kept.
As of the time of filing this report, the total cost of damages could not be confirmed and no life was lost.
Confirming the incident in a statement, the state fire chief, Martin Agbili, said the fire service immediately deployed three fire trucks and firefighters in the scene immediately it received the distress call.
Agbili said, “At about 0615hrs (6.15am) of today 24-12-2022, Anambra State Fire Service, received a distress call of fire outbreak at Mater Foam Industry, Obosi .
“Immediately, we deployed our three fire trucks and our firefighters to the fire scene. We swift into action, controlled and fought it to a standstill.
“The cause of the fire is not yet known. A lot were saved as we prevented the fire from spreading to other nearby building. No life was lost during the fire incident.”
He advised the residents to avoid things that can cause fire outbreak, especially during this peak period of harmattan.
“Avoid anything which can cause fire outbreak at this season. Switch off all electrical and electronic appliances when not in use,” he added.
