The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the school started with 14 pupils when it was established as the second primary school after the one in Zaria district of old Kaduna State.
Speaking at the occasion held at the school premises in Makarfi LGA, the Chairman Organising Committee, Alhaji Suleiman Abdulkadir, said the school had produced many distinguished personalities.
He said that the old boys had held several positions in the state and country.
He explained that the old boys came together to reunite and support the school by reaching out to other old pupils who were doing well in their various fields of endeavour to support the school.
Abdulkadir added that the renovation of the school had commenced, while commending those that supported the association financially and in kind.
In his remarks, Chairman of the occasion, former Governor of Kaduna State, and an old pupil, Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, called on the old boys to raise funds to support the school.
“We must learn to launch endowment fund to support our alma mater as old students of the schools. We must always be ready to support such school by registering our Old Boys Association.
“All of us are fortunate in life, therefore we should not forget our former school so as to render our support to education for others coming behind us to also benefit,” he said.
According to him, renovating schools is not the solution to better education but employing qualified teachers and provision of learning materials.
