The presentation of the grants were made by the District Superintendent of the church in West and Central Africa, Isaac Adigun, during the closing event of the 2022 annual International Youth Camp, tagged, “Ebenezer Night,” which held in Ogun State.
The PUNCH reports that the youth arm of the church had called on youth entrepreneurs to submit business pitches with the aim of winning grants to support their businesses.
However, seven finalists were shortlisted.
In a mini statement posted on the Facebook page of the organisation, the organisation noted that the second runner up, Moses Eno, won the sum of N500,000 while the first runner up, Mary Olalere, won the sum of N750,000.
The winner, Salome Sunday, a baker from the Abuja branch of the church, emerged the winner and was awarded the sum of N1m.
The church further stated, “Out of the seven remaining contestants, we have the final three, and the remaining four people will be going home with N100,000 each”.
The winner of the competition, Salome Sunday expressed gratitude to the organisers of the competition, saying “I am very grateful to God, the church and the YDD for this wonderful opportunity.”
