The Continental Overseer for Africa 3 and the Middle East of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Johnson Odesola, has urged Nigerians to vote for politicians who have integrity in the forthcoming elections.
According to a statement on Thursday, Odesola made the appeal while he addressed journalists in Lagos on the state of the nation, and lamented the growing insecurity in the country.
He said, “If there would be an election, Nigerians should vote with their consciences. They should consider the integrity and transparency of those who will serve Nigerians’ interests.
“Nigeria has reached the state and level at which no one has a solution to the myriad of problems facing this nation today. Politicians who claim to have solutions are succumbing to delusion. The economy has nosedived. Political promises are not to be relied upon.”
The cleric also pleaded with the government to do more to combat insecurity and make Nigerians and foreigners, particularly investors, feel safe.
Odesola also condemned attacks on Independent National Electoral Commission facilities in some parts of the country, adding that it portends grave danger which could threaten the 2023 elections.
