Ukranian police have said 25 Russian torture camps have been discovered in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, which has been liberated from Russian control.

According to Today Times, in the camps, Russian troops held and tortured civilians in inhumane conditions, a regional police chief Volodymyr Timoshko said in a Facebook post on Monday.

It was also reported that some prisoners received electric shocks, while some others had their fingers broken.

The police chief further revealed that 920 civilian bodies, including 25 children, have been discovered so far in the liberated region.

Ukraine had since alleged that Russian forces had committed numerous war crimes since Russia invaded Ukraine in a war that has lasted almost a year.
