It has been a roller coaster of emotions this week following the magnitude 7.8 quake that killed over 5,000 people across Turkey and Syria on Monday.
Turkey’s President Recep Erdogan has declared seven days of national mourning for the victims of the earthquakes.
World Health Organization’s senior emergency officer for Europe, Catherine Smallwood, has said that the death toll could rise to more than 20,000 people.
The Financial Secretary of the Nigerian community in Turkey, Taofeek Amuni, said that no Nigerian has lost their lives in the earthquake but they are unable to ascertain the number of Nigerians who might have been displaced.
