The family of 19-year-old Abdulrazaq Abdul-ahmid has been thrown into panic since he left home on November 16, 2022, without returning.
PUNCH Metro gathered that Abdul-ahmid, who has just been offered admission into the Lagos State University of Science and Technology left his aunt’s house at Azees Close, Asiwaju Liberty Estate, in Ibafo area of Ogun State following a heated argument with his aunt, Kadijat Ahbdul-ahmid and never return home.
His brother, Kazeem Sanusi, told our correspondent that the family reported the case at the Ibafo Police Station and paid some money for the boy’s numbers to be tracked, but are yet to receive any positive information from the police.
He said, “The boy and his aunt had a little disagreement that evening and he left the house. We thought he would return the next morning and apologise but he didn’t.
“We have been calling his two phone numbers, initially it would ring but he would not pick up, but for the past two months, those who claimed to reside in the Ikeja and Eko area of Lagos State have been picking up his calls and saying they do not know him.”
Abdul-ahmid’s aunt, Kadijat, said she had contacted all her family members and relatives in Ogun State and outside but no one seems to know his whereabouts.
She said, “I and my husband have checked everywhere for him, we have called his phone numbers severally but nothing positive. I have sent messages to him telling him that he has been offered admission to study Accounting at LASUSTECH but I have not received any response from him.
“I am scared, I can’t sleep at night. This admission was something he had always looked forward to and now he is missing.”
She appealed to the public to help with information that might help in finding her brother.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, did not take his calls, or respond to a text message sent to him on the matter.
