Ojo said many of the heavyweights, who had been working behind the scene, would come to the open to identify with Tinubu in a bid to ensure his victory and as well win more voters to his side.
The SWAGA leader spoke in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, at a programme to strengthen the group’s house-to-house and door-to-door campaign for the APC presidential candidate.
He said that leaders of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party and Social Democratic Party across the six geopolitical zones had approached SWAGA’s leadership to express their willingness to work for the emergence of Tinubu.
Ojo said that Fayose and Oni had not pretended about their love and preference for Tinubu, adding that the APC candidate’s acceptability across political platforms was a product of age-long camaraderie, networking and bridge-building.
He said, “To be honest, Asiwaju Tinubu will win the coming election. This is a man who is loved by all—masses, traders, market women as well as traditional rulers. He is equally well-received by opposition parties.
“Let me take former governor Fayose for example. He is in the PDP but he has been saying he wants Tinubu as president. And I can even tell you that Asiwaju Segun Oni is in the SDP, but deep in his mind, he can’t vote against Tinubu. It’s not anti-party. It’s a personal issue and relationship they have with Tinubu.”
SWAGA National Chairman, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye, expressed conviction that Tinubu would win the election at the first ballot with the massive support of the masses who were desperately yearning for a new lease of life.
Adeyeye urged SWAGA members to spread the gospel of Tinubu’s candidacy to every nook and cranny of the country, saying that “Nigeria’s current situation demands experienced hands like Tinubu, not a beginner.”
He said that Nigerians were determined to vote for Tinubu despite the artificial scarcity of fuel and the new naira notes, noting that they understood that the twin problems were intentionally created by fifth columnists in the presidency to prevent the former Lagos governor’s electoral victory.
The SWAGA chairman added that the cabals would be disappointed with the results of the election as a majority of Nigerians were not distracted in their strong steadfastness to install Tinubu as the next president for a better and prosperous Nigeria.
He said, “This is a self-inflicted wound on Nigerians by those that are charged to protect the economic interest of the Nigerians but have decided to crumble everything for their own special purpose. They decided to do this to affect the chance of a particular candidate, but they have failed because people are beginning to understand the reason why Nigerians are going through this hardship.
“Changing the currency in the time of election should never be on the card. If at all you want to change currency, why give an unnecessary time limit? Would the whole world or Nigeria crumble if the time limit is extended?
“I want to use this opportunity to say Mr Godwin Emefiele is going down in history as the most controversial governor of the Central Bank. We have had governors of CBN before, eminent and qualified ones who moved the economy of Nigeria in the right direction.
“But, under Mr Emefiele, all the indices of economic development have been going downward markedly because he is really playing politics with the policies of the bank. Whereas, CBN governor should be politically neutral.”
