This comes on the heels of the recently released promotions by the Police Service Commission, in which the three officers’ recommendation by the IGP was approved by the commission.
The DIGs are Ali Janga, in charge of the Department of Research and Planning; Hafiz Inuwa, in charge of the Department of Training and Development; and Adeleke Bode, in charge of the Department of Operations.
DIG Janga holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Maiduguri, Borno State. A Member of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, he has attended several professional courses and workshops.
He has held several strategic positions in the past. These include an Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Police Mobile Force, AIG Department of Information and Communication Technology, AIG Zone 10 Sokoto, Commissioner in charge of the Police Mobile Force, Federal Operations and Kogi Command amongst others.
DIG Inuwa, who is the immediate past Assistant Inspector-General of Police and Force Secretary, had previously served as the pioneer AIG in charge of Zone-13 Ukpo — Dunukofia in Awka, Anambra State, covering Anambra and Enugu State Police Commands, Commissioner of Police in charge of Delta and Cross River States, amongst other strategic positions.
He is a member of the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos.
DIG Bode was the immediate past Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Lagos comprising Lagos and Ogun states.
He has served as the AIG in charge of the Zone 9 Police Command comprising, Abia, Imo and Ebonyi states. He had earlier served as the Commissioner of Police in Delta State and Kebbi State. DIG Bode is a graduate of Law from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State. He also holds a degree in Education from Lagos State University.
Similarly, the IGP unveiled a one-day seminar for Deputy Commissioners of Police in charge of Operations across the zonal and state Police Commands nationwide, and their counterparts in other security agencies at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Monday.
The seminar themed, ‘The role of the Nigeria Police Force in curbing election violence in Nigeria as it affects the upcoming 2023 general election,’ was to provide the DCPs requisite skills for the management of electoral violence during the elections.
Baba noted that this was in line with his mandate to ensure professional training as a key to the manpower development of the Force.
The IGP further charged the senior officers to work ardently in entrenching compliance with the police reform agenda of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
He also assured that the NPF would collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure preparedness to deliver on its mandate of providing full security coverage before, during, and after the 2023 general election.
