The PUNCH reports that that the passengers of the airline scheduled for a Lagos to Port Harcourt (Rivers State) trip on Thursday were stranded after the airline announced cancellation after about seven hours.
The passengers became stranded after waiting for the flight, which was earlier scheduled for 10:30am but suffered postponements. It was later declared cancelled around 7pm.
A man, said to be the manager of the airline, while appealing to the customers earlier, explained that the aircraft had operational problems.
According to him, an aircraft meant to later convey the Port Harcourt passengers was awaiting approval of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
A passenger who was obviously furious went physical with Helen after heated arguments. Other passengers sought refund.
The Operations Manager, Ahmed Omoloye, who spoke with our correspondent, assured that the trip would take place tomorrow (Friday) morning, while saying that he could not give the exact time.
He said the management could not risk the lives of the passengers.
“We are sorry, we did not plan for this, we have an aircraft we are sending here tomorrow morning,” Omoloye said.
