The group also announced a change in name to Coalition of Support Groups for Atiku/Okowa Presidency 2023.
Addressing newsmen in Osogbo, the National Publicity Secretary of the group, Yahaya Mojeed, said it shifted support to Atiku because the administration of Maj. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari, (retd) has failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians.
Mojeed said Nigerians have endured enough in the last eight years of the Buhari administration, noting that people must unite and end APC reign.
He further said, “the leadership and members of the Coalition of APC Support Groups, after wide consultations, decided to shift support from the APC and Muhammadu Buhari’s government to the Atiku/Okowa Presidency 2023 project.
“This was done after we strongly believe that the APC and Buhari’s government have failed Nigeria and more importantly, have failed us because we worked for the success of APC in 2015 and 2019 general elections.
“We are here today to tell the world that we are no longer with the APC again. We are here to show the world that the Coalition of APC Support Groups, have renounced their allegiance and shift support for the actualization of Atiku/Okowa Presidency 2023 project.”
