The PUNCH reports that the ruling party secured 86 votes out of 109 while the Labour Party and Peoples Political Party secured five and three votes respectively.
Other political parties that secured votes at the polling unit were ADC and ZLP one vote each.
Thirteen votes were declared void.
The PUNCH earlier reports that Sanwo-Olu and his Commissioner for Youths and Social Development, Olusegun Dawodu, had commended the Independent Electoral Commission in the state for a seamless ongoing election.
The duo made the commendation after casting their vote at Eiyekole polling units six and seven respectively, Adeniji Adele, Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu, who arrived at the polling unit along with his wife at 10 22 am, expressed satisfaction with the process, describing it ” as very peaceful without any incidence”.
Dawodu said had told The PUNCH that voting was without any hitch, adding that the electorates went through a seamless process.
Dawodu noted that it took little time for voters to cast their ballot compared to previous elections.
He said, “I voted here at unit 7. It took just a few minutes to get everything sorted out. Everything went smoothly without any problem.
Speaking on the performance of INEC, he said, “The process is okay to me. There’s no problem yet. Nobody is complaining and the waiting process is not very long. Within five minutes, you are done, which is good for our people, so that they won’t have to stay so long to vote.”
“I expect a lot of people to come to vote. And then to vote for all our candidates,” he added.
He advised the youth to participate massively in the ongoing process.
He said, “This is your time. You are not the leaders of tomorrow, you are leaders of today; your tomorrow is today. We have told them to come out en masse to exercise your franchise so that tomorrow nobody will complain.”
The PUNCH also reports that the elections at the governor’s polling unit were largely peaceful as voting ended at the stipulated time of 2:30 pm.
