Our correspondent who was at the Ideal Primary School/ Okusanya Memorial Nursery & Primary School, Tabon Tabon, Agege, the main distribution point for election materials at 9 am, observed that many election officers were still trying to get the election materials.
Speaking with our correspondent at the distribution centre, an INEC ad-hoc staff who simply identified himself as Ade stated that the main cause of delay in the distribution of the material was the typographical errors found in the list being used to distribute the material and hitches in getting vehicles that will take election officials to their various polling units. He noted that the errors slowed down the officials handling the distribution to polling officers, hence the reason many people are still trying to get their materials at almost 9 am.
“The delay is caused by the typographical error in the list and a problem with getting vehicles, but they are sorting it out. Some people are already moving with their material.
Another INEC ad-hoc staff who refused to mention his name but confirmed he is a presiding officer told our correspondent that the INEC officials are already sorting out the issues with the typographical errors and releasing election materials to polling officials.
Voting Now Ongoing in Agege
However, voting started across many polling centres in Agege from past 9 am as many election officers make their way to the polling centres. From Pen Cinema to Oke koto, to Orile road, residents were seen casting their votes at the various polling centres.
