The Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku has hailed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the initiative of BVAS. He made this known when he cast his votes in the presidential and national assembly elections. He told Trek Africa Newspaper, ‘This is the first time we are using BVAS and I can say this is the right way forward.’
The local council boss added: ‘The election is going pretty well as we envisaged. Everywhere is calm. People are observing and performing their civic duty. Voting is meant to start at 8.30am but due to logistics issues, it didn’t.’
‘We have a cordial relationship with the electoral officers so we are making alternative arrangement this get voting materials to where we had issues and everywhere in the community can have voting materials. I am pretty sure everyone will vote before 2.30pm. We have about 300 registered voters here and you can see the turnout is large.’
