In-form Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, has emerged among Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag’s summer priorities as the club plan to reinforce in the summer.
According to Daily Mail, United will reportedly target at least two major signings this summer to continue their momentum under the Dutch manager.
A centre forward and further reinforcements in midfield will be United’s priority in the next transfer window, with a centre-back also potentially needed if captain Harry Maguire leaves.
United ended their six-year trophy drought by beating Newcastle United 2-0 to win the Carabao Cup at Wembley on Sunday and Ten Hag’s side remain in contention in the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Europa League this season.
But, according to the Manchester Evening News, plans are already taking shape for further strengthening of the United squad in the summer.
United are interested in Osimhen and Tottenham’s Harry Kane, while Ten Hag is an admirer of Benfica and Portugal marksman Goncalo Ramos.
The manager also believes Mohammed Kudus, who plays for his former club Ajax, also has what it takes to prosper in the Premier League.
In midfield, Ten Hag could be open to a renewed pursuit of Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, a player he was desperate to sign last summer.
Given that Barcelona need to sell players to ease their financial issues, a second swoop for the Netherlands international could prove successful.
The United manager would also reportedly endorse a move for Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham, though the club would face stiff competition from Liverpool and other suitors.
However, any summer incomings will have to follow player sales in order for United to comply with UEFA’s financial sustainability rules.
Among those United plan to sell are Maguire, defender Alex Telles, who is currently out on loan at Sevilla, and injury-plagued forward Anthony Martial.
