The newly deployed 2,670 staff will serve as coordinators and supervisors in the climate change adaptation project across the state.
In the statement made available by the Buni’s media aide, Mamman Mohammed, the commissioner said social organisations would be encouraged to get involved in the project.
It was reported that the state commissioner for Environment, Sidi Karasuwa said the coordinators and supervisors will serve in each of the 178 wards of the state for the execution of various activities initiated to contain the challenges of climate change.
The commissioner also explained that the state is “determined to confront the menace of climate change to boost agriculture and ensure food safety and security.”
