The Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has approved the increment of pensioners’ allowances in the state.
The Head of Service in the state, Mr Kayode Ogundele, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Press Officer of the ministry, Mr Shina Adeyeye and made available to our correspondent in Akure on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Ogundele said the approval of the governor was in conformity with the consequential adjustment arising from the implementation of the national minimum wage of 2019 in the country.
The statement read, ” No fewer than 11,654 officers from the State Civil Service and 11,659 from the Local Governments’ Service who retired before January 1, 2020. Effective date of the present minimum wage regime would benefit from the new approval.”
While congratulating the pensioners in the state, Ogundele thanked the governor for listening to the yearnings of the pensioners and prioritising the general well being of workers in the state.
