This is as he said the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has no power to declare anybody wanted.
Amaechi spoke after casting his ballot in Ubima, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State on Saturday.
Wike had declared 27 politicians of opposition political parties wanted over an alleged plot to disrupt the elections, but Amaechi faulted the directive.
He stated that at the beginning of the February 11, 2023 elections, people were commending the Independent National Electoral Commission but that in the end, the election was roundly defective.
He said, “That was how we praised INEC at the beginning of the election on the 11th and it turned out to be one of the worst elections in the history of Nigeria.
“Now again look at what is going on… Total failure of governance in the country. Complete failure.
“Police are helping the PDP to arrest APC and SDP members. People are getting arrested and nobody has spoken.
“The governor has no right to declare anybody wanted whatsoever. People are being declared wanted and the IG is doing nothing. Nobody is doing anything. Complete failure.
“Now there is voter apathy. I don’t know whether it cuts across the whole of Nigeria. But there is voter apathy in Rivers state. Nobody wants to come out because people are scared.”
He alleged that result sheets in some areas were fake, saying, “Although I don’t have evidence whether they are fake or not. But you really have to battle to ensure there is no violence.”
On his advice to the Federal Government and INEC, he said “What advice? I have spoken to everybody concerned on this issue before the election. Spoken completely.
“Those of us who opposed the reappointment of Mahmood, the person who nominated him is a member of Tinubu’s camp. So what are you expecting.”
