Leeds United and Leicester City are among the clubs keen on signing Gent wonderkid, Gift Orban, according to Team Talk.
Respected journalist Ben Jacobs has told the sports news outlet that the two Premier League clubs are taking a look at the 20 year old Nigerian ahead of the summer window.
The Nigerian grabbed the headlines in the last six days after netting four in his club, KAA Gent’s 6-2 demolition of their Jupiler Pro League host, Zulte Waregen and followed up barely a few days later to scored a four-minute hat-trick against Turkish Super Lig side, Istanbul Basaksehir in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
“Gift Orban has said that his dream is to eventually play in the Premier League,” Jacobs said. “Naturally, he is being compared to Victor Osimhen. He’s a little bit smaller than Osimhen, but he’s not afraid to put his body about.
“He’s clinical, he’s intelligent, he’s got good awareness. Leicester are one to watch. Leeds could be in the equation as well. They’re on the lookout for a young striker and somebody to alleviate the burden on Patrick Bamford.”
Orban joined Gent in the January window from Norwegian side Stabaek. In 24 senior games in Norway, he scored 19 goals and laid on seven assists. Since his switch, he has scored 12 goals in nine games for Gent.
