The Governor-elect of Niger State, Umar Bago, has extended a hand of fellowship to his opponents towards the development of the state.
Bago, who made this call while reading his acceptance speech in Minna on Monday, said that the doors of his government would be open to everyone to move Niger State forward.
He also commended his closest opponent, Isah Kantigi, for displaying the spirit of sportsmanship by conceding defeat.
Bago, while appreciating the people of the state for their support, said he accepted the mandate solemnly and appealed to his supporters to be humble in victory because “this is not a time to gloat.”
The Senator-elect for the Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Sani Musa, described the day as memorable, saying the electoral victory was a reward for the hard work of party members.
He said the governor-elect would work to reinvent Niger State and rekindle hope in residents.
