The National Leader, National Democratic Coalition Renewal Group, Prof. Atilade Adeeyo, has raised the alarm over the activities of NADECO United States Chapter, which he described as a faceless body of bad losers.
Adeeyo carpeted the group over its rejection of the result of the February 25 presidential election, which saw Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress as winner.
In a statement made available in Ado Ekiti, titled, “Threat of expulsion: Your ranting irresponsible, inconsequential, NADECO Renewal replies Tinubu opposition group in diaspora,” Adeeyo urged Nigerians to “be guided properly and not listen to the irresponsible and divisive ranting of bad losers disguising as NADECO USA.”
Adeeyo spoke in reaction to a statement by NADECO USA through its Executive Director, Lloyd Ukwu, in which it rejected the result of the February 25 presidential election, claiming that it was fraudulent and threatened to expel Tinubu from NADECO.
Adeeyo said the threat by the US group to expel Tinubu over the election result was laughable.
“Does our respected President-elect, who has already been given the mandate to lead over 200 million great Nigerians, need an insignificant endorsement of a few, clearly undemocratic elements parading themselves in the guise of NADECO USA?
“Nigerians must beware of the misleading antics of these undemocratic elements because, if probed properly, they may turn out to be the sponsors of those failed hackers, whose destructive motives had been crushed by INEC’s smart and intelligent operations to protect the mandate freely given by Nigerians to Tinubu.”
Adeeyo said many sane and great minds across the board had described the presidential election as “the freest, fairest and most credible presidential poll in the nation’s history.”
NADECO Renewal, which said that Tinubu’s victory represented the people’s wish and the best for the country, again called on the opposition Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party “to accept the outcome of the February 25 presidential election in good faith so that the country can move on in peace.”
