The PUNCH reports that Makinde was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the just concluded governorship election held on Saturday, who polled 563,756 votes to defeat his closest rival, Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress, with 256,685 votes, and Adebayo Adelabu of Accord with 38,357 votes.
Orji, in a statement, on Tuesday, in Ibadan to congratulate the governor, said Makinde was a leader with the burning desire to set the state on a positive trajectory.
She stressed that, “The people of the state believe in the efficacy of his campaign promises. They also believe that Makinde’s excellent campaign, which was issue-based, and leadership convictions under Omituntun 1.0, made the masses to see the charming heart of a leader with the burning desire to provide practical leadership.
“The leadership acumen of the governor remains the symbol of good governance to his contemporaries in the country.”
Orji, therefore, commended the good people of the state, especially the Igbo community, who rallied around the governor and voted for him in all the 33 local governments in the state.
She assured that developmental strides recorded under Omituntun 1.0 were just the tip of the iceberg, noting that under Omituntun 2.0, the state would witness unprecedented development.
