He asked them to embark on prayers for Allah to bless him with more wisdom toward delivering the dividends of democracy to the good people of Kano.
Yusuf made the appeal in a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, on Wednesday.
He said he considered the prayers as a show of solidarity and celebration of his victory at the polls last Saturday and not kilometers of trekking by some of his enthusiasts in some quarters, especially given the state of insecurity in the country.
While thanking the supporters within and outside Kano State, the governor-elect appealed to the trekkers to discontinue the journey as it will by no means contribute to solving the myriad of economic and social challenges awaiting the incoming government after the May 29, 2023 take-over.
The statement read, “the incoming administration will concentrate its time and attention towards a greater future for the people, as well as ensuring security, health, education, economic, infrastructure, and good welfare for the aged, civil servants, and the private sector being the anthem of Engr. Abba led the government.
“As a Kano people-centered Governor, Engr. Abba tasked all hands to be on deck towards ensuring the actualisation of Kwankwasiyya and the NNPP vision for the responsive leadership that works for all in the state.”
