The All Progressives Congress in Kashere ward, Gombe State, has ordered Senator Danjuma Goje to appear before its five-man committee in the next two weeks over alleged anti-party activities.
Goje was a former governor and incumbent senator representing Gombe Central comprising Akko/Yalmatu Deba Local Government Areas.
The senator who recently won his reelection bid to the Senate is from Kashere ward.
The PUNCH reports that Goje was not part of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya’s re-election campaign and was conspicuously absent during the visit of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to Gombe.
Addressing ward members in Kashere shortly after a stakeholders’ meeting , APC Kashere ward chairman, Tanimu Abdullahi, disclosed that Goje had not shown them the needed leadership, adding that he abandoned the party during the recently held polls.
Abdullahi said Goje opted to sponsor candidates not of the party.
He stressed that the disciplinary committee was set up to give Goje and others fair chance to explain themselves.
The ward chairman further disclosed that the committee was set up in the best interest of the party, adding that no single individual was bigger than the APC.
“During the just concluded elections, it is unfortunate that Danjuma Goje and his supporters engaged in anti-party (anti-activities) and we are all witnesses.
“He (Goje) gave directives to some party members to vote a different party and he went ahead to even give money to that course.
“Goje is supposed to be an example having benefitted from the party for a long time but he went against our party; this is unfortunate,” Abdullahi said.
