The Chairman of the Ogun State Governor’s Elders Advisory Council, Oluneye Okuboyejo, was all smiles as people from different walks of life joined him to celebrate his 90th birthday in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, during the week.
The programme started with a thanksgiving service, and was attended by the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun; and Senator representing Ogun East Federal Constituency, Lekan Mustapha, among others.
Though the event was about Okuboyejo, the congregation was encouraged to pray for Abiodun ‘so that he would finish what he had started in the state, especially the commissioning of the cargo airport’.
In his remarks about the birthday boy, Abiodun said,“Baba is my reverend father. He stood by me through thick and thin from the minute I expressed interest to become the governor of the state in 2019. He has held my hand, worked with me, counseled me and guided me. Baba, at 90, went practically everywhere with me during the campaign.”
Other guests at the event include Okunboyejo’s children— Babatunde, Adesina, Olumide, Olugbenga, Yemisi Odeniyi, and Oluwatoyin Jimoh.
Quite a number of monarchs in the state were also present at the party. They include the Eleru of Eru Ijebu Kingdom, Oba Johnson Ogunbeno; Oniworo of Iworo Ijebu, Oba Adebisi Onafuwa; and Ebumawaye of Ago Iwoye, Oba Abdulrasak Adenugba.
