The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Mrs Olayinka Patunola-Ajayi, has called for collaboration with the Institute of Chartered Surveyors London (Nigeria Group).
According to a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday, the call is in furtherance of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration’s commitment to making the state better for all residents.
Patunola-Ajayi, while receiving the executive members of the institution led by the Vice Chairman, Tayo Odunsi, in her office on Tuesday, said the institution was relevant to the development of the state because of its professionals in different environmental fields.
The statement read in part, “While urging the body not to hesitate to bring forth ideas and innovations that can enhance the T.H.E.M.E.S development agenda of the state government, Patunola-Ajayi revealed that the ministry had continued to give the provision of waterfront infrastructure a priority with the construction of more jetties and channelisation of water routes to boost water transportation system in Lagos.
“She reiterated that despite the numerous giant strides of the Sanwo-Olu administration across all sectors, the state government was not resting on its oars and was still working assiduously for the growth of the state.
“According to her, the long-term target of the present administration is to situate Lagos in the company of global cities with 21st century attributes.”
