Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, have pledged to work together to ensure the speedy completion of the airport in the state.
They stated this when Adeleke visited the former governor of the state in his office in Abuja on Friday.
This was contained in a statement by the Minister’s Media Adviser, Sola Fasure.
Adeleke was quoted as saying, “I’m concerned about the state of our infrastructure in Osun. Osun State remains the only state in the South-West without an airport. Osun has a lot of potentials, but we are restricted due to lack of infrastructure, particularly our airport.
“We will try our best to resolve all impediments and roadblocks towards the completion of the project. The potential of the airports is enormous. As an administration, we will look into it and collaborate with the Federal Government on the completion of the project.”
The minister, however, expressed his commitment to seeing the government succeed on the project.
Aregbesola disclosed the approval for some funds by the Federal Government for the completion of the airport, saying he would use his remaining 42 days under Buhari’s regime to ensure the fund was released.
