Amid summer transfer speculations, Belgian side KAA Gent have reportedly identified another Nigerian winger Wale Alli, who plays for Zbrojovka Brno in the Czech top division, as a replacement for sensational striker Gift Orban.
Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, recently tweeted that fast-rising Orban could make a big move away from the Belgian Jupiler League in the summer transfer window.
Orban has been making headlines in the Belgian topflight league following his impressive performances since his €3m arrival from Norwegian club Stabaek in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old has registered 14 goals in 11 games for the Gantoise across all competitions and his efforts have powered the Belgian outfit to fourth place in the Jupiler League table.
He also scored the fastest hat-trick in Gent’s 4-1 away win against Turkish Süper Lig Istanbul Basaksehir in the Europa Conference League Round of 16 matches.
According to Belgian sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Buffalos have placed Alli as a perfect successor should Orban leave the Ghelamco Arena in the summer transfer window.
“Gent is eyeing a new talent. Wale Musa Alli must become the new goldcrest of the Gentenaars. Alli, 22, is a Nigerian winger who plays for Zbrojovka Brno in the Czech top division, “ Tavolieri said in a tweet.
Several clubs in Europe are reportedly interested in signing Orban, who is presently valued at €20m and Gent could be tempted to sell their January arrival.
On his part, Ali, 22, has registered two goals and five assists in the Czech league this season. Before playing in the Czech Republic, the Nigerian starred for Austrian side SKU Amstetten.
