Mateo Kovacic, the Chelsea midfielder, has given some details of Frank Lampard’s first team meeting after he was confirmed as interim manager on Friday.
According to Kovacic, Lampard explained what he expects from the players until the end of the season.
“We had a short meeting, he explained what he wants and what his desire is until the end of the season.
“There is a possibility to finish the season well, and if there’s a possibility, we need to take it.
“He was very calm and had a clear idea of what he expects from us. But it’s only one day so we will see what he asks us to do on the pitch and how we will prepare,” Kovacic said.
Chelsea currently sit in 11th place in the Premier League.
Lampard’s first game will be away to Wolves in the league before the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid next week.
