The performance of Leicester City’s midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, in Saturday’s Premier League match against Manchester City has been described as a ‘nightmare’ by former Chelsea Women’s striker, Karen Carney.
The handball caused by Ndidi resulted in Man City’s second goal which was scored by Erling Haaland.
The referee didn’t initially award a penalty to Man City but changed his decision after he was told to go to the monitor by the Video Assistant Referee, VAR.
Manchester City defeated Leicester City 3-1 in the match.
However, Carney, a former Arsenal striker, expressed her displeasure with Ndidi.
She disclosed to Premier League Production, “He [Ndidi] had a bit of a nightmare the whole game, to be honest”.
“At least, I don’t know what he is thinking. He is there, one-on-one with [Jack] Grealish.
“He knows he’s going to get to the byline, a cross is coming in. As soon as Jack crossed it, I think we all said that is a penalty.
“His arm [Ndidi’s] clearly hit it. That is a blatant handball. To be fair, Grealish should have had one before this.”
