AY and Basketmouth, who are big names in the Nigerian entertainment industry, have been in the news lately due to their year-long beef, after AY revealed that it was over a N30,000 gig.
During an interview with Chude Jideonwo, AY alleged that his issue with Basketmouth started in 2006 after he refused to pay him an agreed N30,000 for standing in for him at an event.
Basketmouth, on the other hand, denied ever being friends with AY and stated that most of the claims made by AY during his interview with Chude Jideonwo were lies.
Julius Agwu, when asked to speak on the beef between the two comedians during a recent interview with Naija FM, said he believes there’s more to it than the N30,000.
Speaking on his relationship with Ay, Julius Agwu recalled putting a call through to him, asking him to reschedule his yearly Easter sunday comedy show that equally falls on the same day with his.
He claimed AY refused and hung the phone on him.
“There’s more to it, na we dey back stage we no go fit know…I called AY, he cut phone for my neck”. He said in part.
