Shehu-Abubakar stated this on Friday, shortly after various groups paid him Sallah homage on horseback as part of an event commemorating the Eid el-Fitr.
According to him, there was a need to give enumerators the desired assistance to provide accurate information.
He stressed that not only human beings would be counted but houses.
He said, “The census will soon commence it will not only be about people; houses too will be counted. Give them (enumerators) your consent during the process, agree for them to count you and your household.”
The monarch urged the Muslim faithful to replicate the lessons drawn from the month of Ramadan,
“fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. The wealthy ones are to continue to assist the needy so that they can participate also in the Sallah,” Shehu-Abubakar said.
The monarch commended Governor Muhammadu Yahaya-led administration for its infrastructural development across the 11 Local Government Areas.
“The residents are appreciative of the various efforts in the construction of roads, the building of classrooms in schools,” he said.
While speaking on the need for security consciousness, he encouraged residents to play their part. “I’m calling on residents to be security conscious and to live in peace with each other,” he added.
