Mary-Udo also berated critics of the just 2023 general elections, saying that the election might not have been the best, but that it would not certainly pass as the worst election ever conducted.
Speaking while addressing newsmen in his chambers in Ikot-Ekpene Local Government Area on Wednesday, Mary-Udo said that the introduction of a cashless policy and fuel scarcity experienced during the election period were ‘booby traps’ laid against him even by his party.
While describing Tinubu’s victory as a miracle, Mary-Udo said, “Tinubu succeeding to become Nigeria’s president was a miracle. Why am I saying so? I am a politician and an active one at that. I know the booby traps that were laid for him even from his party. Sadly, so, but out of these he came out successfully.
“I believe Tinubu is someone God has appointed at this time to lead Nigeria. I believe sincerely, irrespective of anyone’s political idiosyncrasies or opinion, that there is something God wants Senator Ahmed Tinubu to do for Nigeria, so let’s give him a chance.”
Mary-Udo who drummed support for Senator Godswill Akpabio’s Senate Presidency, however, berated critics of the just concluded election, saying that the election might not have been the best, but that it would not certainly pass as the worst election ever conducted.
According to him, “Many people have criticised the last election and I ask: is it the election that sitting governors lost in their bid to go to the Senate? An election that sitting governors could not succeed isn’t that a good measure of a credible election?
“I know that many criticised the election because results were not transmitted to IReV but we must look beyond this. So, to me, the election may not be the best, it wasn’t the worst.”
