German side RB Leipzig are set to end their interest in Nigeria-eligible striker Folarin Balogun due to Arsenal’s £35m asking price for the striker, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The on-loan forward has attracted interest from across Europe this season following his impressive displays for Ligue 1 side Reims.
Balogun has scored 18 goals for the French side, which is only bettered by Kylian Mbappe, Alexandre Lacazette and Jonathan David in the French topflight.
The forward remains determined to make it at Arsenal if he is given first-team assurances but Gabriel Jesus is the first choice at the Emirates, while Eddie Nketiah has signed a new deal since Balogun committed his future to the club.
Balogun does not want to be third choice at the Gunners and will push to leave if that is the case this summer.
Arsenal want to keep Balogun but due to his desire for first-team football, the Gunners will reluctantly listen to offers of around £35m for the striker.
However, that fee has been deemed too high for Leipzig, and the Bundesliga giants will seek alternative targets, according to Sky Germany.
Balogun is unlikely to be short of suitors this summer, with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Crystal Palace said to be interested in him, but Arsenal’s asking price could restrict moves from some of the clubs.
The Gunners are keen to sell to raise funds for a move for West Ham skipper Declan Rice, who is valued at £100m.
