An indigene of the area, Abubakar Na,allah, told The PUNCH that the 74 victims were released last Friday night, adding that the remaining 11 persons were still not seen.
He said, “The bandits have yesterday (Friday) night released 74 victims out of the 85 they had kidnapped.”
“We are yet to see the remaining 11 persons and we don’t know what happened to them.
“As I told you earlier yesterday that they (bandits) had collected an additional amount of N3 million promising to release our people and now they have released 74 victims”.
“They (bandits) did not tell us whether the remaining 11 persons were alive or not”.
Na,allah explained that some of the released victims were currently in Wanzamai and Yankara hospitals receiving medical treatment, while others were in their various homes.
Both the state government and the state police command were yet to issue statements on the release of the victims.
