The anti-kidnapping unit of the Katsina State Police Command early Friday said it killed two alleged terrorists and recovered two AK47s.
According to the command, policemen intercepted the gang of terrorists at 12:30am when the suspected criminals were about to kidnap a businessman in the state.
It disclosed that members of the gang were on its wanted list.
The police added that one of the suspects killed, identified as Samaila Shehu of Tsaunni Kura village, in the Malumfashi Local Government Area of the state, had been arrested and arraigned before a court in 2020.
A statement by the command’s spokesman, CSP Gambo Isah, added, “Nemesis caught up with the suspects when they were on their way to commit their heinous mission of kidnapping a renowned businessman in the state and met their Waterloo. Two suspected terrorists were neutralised and two AK47 rifles were recovered.”
