President, Nigeria Cricket Federation, Uyi Akpata, has expressed his satisfaction with the quality of play at the just-concluded Edo Cricket Super 4 in Benin City, The PUNCH reports.
Akpata, who watched the final game of the tournament between No Limits and U-17 Cricket Club in company with the national coach and High Performance manager, Steve Tikolo, noted that the league had the potential to produce more players for the national team.
“The quality of the matches in this Super 4 has been revealing. I am sure the technical team of the national teams are here and taking notes of some exceptional talents that might get a look in,” he said.
The third edition of the Edo State Cricket League was concluded on Sunday with No Limits Cricket Club upsetting two-time winners U-17 Cricket Club to lift the Super Four trophy.
UNIBEN Cricket Club picked the third place after triumphing over Dolphin Cricket Club.
In the South-South Female League Super 4, which ran side-by-side, Smashers of Akwa Ibom overran Delta Force from Asaba with 53 runs to emerge winners.
The matches were held at the Edo Boys High School High Performance Centre and Iyoba College in Benin City, Edo State.
