Ahead of his inauguration, Enugu State Governor-elect, Peter Mbah has promised to unlock the economic potential of the state for exponential growth.
He spoke during an interview with journalists on Thursday. He said it was necessary to attract investors and invite them for investments in the state.
According to him, since he was elected by the people to govern the most attractive state for investment in Nigeria, his administration would equip 40,000 young people every year with ICT skills, totalling 160,000 in four years.
He said he would make Enugu State a preferred destination for investment in the African continent.
His administration, he noted, would give priority to training of young people, enhancing their skills and getting them to compete with their peers across the globe.
He said, “There’s no delay, I’m going to hit the ground running and unlock the economic potentials in Enugu State.
“So our interest in ICT infrastructure is going to really address what we hope to be able to put in the pipeline, a minimum of 40,000 young people every year, that we are going to get productively and skillfully equipped with ICT skills.
“That means we are going to have a number of innovation incubation centres, we are going to have it as a cluster across the different senatorial zones.”
He added, “We are going to also work with the outsourcing agents across the world to be able to matchmake these young people in terms of skill acquisition immediately they are done with their skill enhancement programmes.
