The Nigerian-born singer and songwriter, Tiwa Savage, is among artistes billed to perform at the Coronation Concert of King Charles II scheduled to be held on Sunday, May 7.
The concert is scheduled to take place on the grounds of Windsor Castle in front of a crowd of 20,000 members the public, according to a report by BBC Pidgin.
The concert will be streamed on BBC television and radio stations.
The award-winning R&B, pop and hip-hop artiste said it was truly an honor to represent Africa and the Commonwealth at such a historic event, BBC Pidgin reports.
Other artistes expected to perform at the concert include: Paloma Faith; rock ‘n’ roll legend Steve Winwood; renowned pianist Lang Lang, and pop star Nicole Scherzinger.
Tom Cruise, Dame Joan Collins and Disney Winnie, among others, will also feature in the concert as announced by the BBC.
There will be an eclectic mix of artistes to include: Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, Alexis Ffrench and one collaboration of five Royal patronages.
Savage, whose songs have won her MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act to make her the first woman to win in the category, said, “I look forward to joining the celebrations and bringing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time!”
The coronation of the King will take place on Saturday, May 6, at the Westminster Abbey in London.
