The APC candidate at the poll, Adegboyega Oyetola appealed the judgement of the Court of Appeal, which declared Ademola Adeleke, the candidate of the PDP, the winner of the poll.
The APC acting chairman in the state, Mr Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement obtained in Osogbo, said it has been informed of plans by the PDP to hire fifty 18-seater buses that would convey political hoodlums to Abuja who would storm the Supreme Court in order to give a false impression of popularity for Governor Adeleke.
Lawal also alleged that the local government chapters of the ruling party had also been directed to engage in show-of-strength protest across Osun, as those in Abuja would be creating scenes at the Supreme Court.
He stated that alleged plans by the PDP were an organised intimidation of the judiciary and therefore, enjoined the Osun Commissioner of Police and heads of other security agencies in the state to investigate the allegations with a view to arresting and prosecuting those involved.
The statement read in parts, “Why would a group of people in the name of politics be intimidating the judiciary with a rented crowd in order to create a false impression?
“Governance should not be by hook and crook means. Once you have filed your court processes in the Supreme Court, why create tension in Osun State and Abuja again?
“There is no way that this posture of the Osun PDP would not have a boomerang effect. It is a shame. In a similar vein, a young man suspected to be a commissioned PDP agent was sighted having a spiritual birth in the daylight to the consternation of the right-thinking members of the society in front of the state secretariat of our party in Osogbo, on Wednesday.”
Reacting to the allegations in another statement, Osun PDP chairman, Mr Sunday Bisi, accused the APC of twisting facts, calling on the opposition party to act responsibly and desist from the ways that he said led to its defeat in recent elections in the state.
He said, “It is laughable for anybody to accuse the PDP of planning to mobilise thugs to the Supreme Court. Do these people know where the Supreme Court is located at all? Even if you want to lie, why won’t you be smart enough?
“The other time, the APC alleged killings of its members. But in reality and as documented, many PDP members were, in fact, the victims of the deadly attacks by the thugs.
“On a daily basis, the APC went on air to distort the reality of the great dividends of democracy our people are enjoying.
“Unknown to the opposition, our people are smarter as they never believe the fake news arising from sore election losers.
“Osun people are happy with Governor Ademola Adeleke and the PDP. Locally and internationally, Governor Adeleke is well-loved by the people. So we have nothing to be afraid of at the Supreme Court. The Lord justices know the facts and figures of the Osun case.”
