Our correspondent learnt that the women are out on the streets protesting for the fifth day in a row, demanding the release of their monarch.
The PUNCH had reported that the Gung Zaar-select was arrested along with six others for their alleged involvement in the communal crisis that erupted in Sang Village in Bogoro LGA about two weeks ago over the coronation of a Hamlet Head.
A 70-year old man was gruesomely killed in the incident and many sustained various degrees of injuries while 74 houses, shops and three motorcycles were completely burnt down.
The Bauchi State Police Command through its Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, a Superintendent of Police, had, in a statement, insisted that the detained monarch and the other six people have a case to answer over the incident.
The protesters who mostly dressed in black attires held leaves and branches of trees while others held placards and banners with various inscriptions demanding the release of their monarch.
They sang several songs and walked for several hours going round Tafawa Balewa town.
As they went round the town, the protesting women forced shops and businesses that were open to close down.
They also barricaded all major roads leading in and out of Tafawa Balewa town.
