Hilda had originally planned to finish at 4 PM today, surpassing the previous record holder for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual” with a 96-hour run.
Recall that the 27-year-old from Akwa Ibom state broke the record on Monday morning, May 15, after surpassing the previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes set by Lata Tondon of India in 2019.
If Chef Hilda is confirmed by the Guinness World records after hitting the 100th hour, she would surpass Lata Tondon, an Indian chef who currently holds the record with 87 hours and 45 minutes of record-breaking continuous cooking.
Currently, spectators at the cook-a-thon competition at the Amore Gardens in Lekki are uploading videos of themselves applauding the young chef and congratulating her on reaching the milestone.
