Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Saturday, said his administration would continue to sack “bad persons” and demolish bad structures till May 29 when he would leave office.
El-Rufai disclosed this at a book presentation on the governor titled, ‘Putting The People First,’ and authored by a veteran journalist and public commentator, Emmanuel Ado, in Kaduna.
The book was reviewed by a former Nigerian Television Authority newscaster, Eugenia Abu.
“Any bad thing we find we will remove so that the next governor does not need to do it again. Watch out till the 11th hour when we shall quit office we will continue to sack bad persons and remove bad things,” El-Rufai.
Speaking at the event, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, said that his Kaduna counterpart was never known to be a sycophant, describing him as a fearless man who spoke truth to power.
This was as the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, represented by a former chairman of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Kashim Imam, described El-Rufai as a governor who delivered any task he was given.
Tinubu donated N20m at the book launch.
Wike, who recalled the controversial letter El-Rufai wrote the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in March 2017, where he challenged Buhari to deliver the people’s expectations to avoid being on the wrong side of history, donated N20m at the event.
