Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commiserated with the people of Erin Ile on the passing of the Elerin of Erin Ile, Oba AbdulGaniyu Ajibola Olusokun II.
AbdulRazaq described the development as the end of a fine era.
Oba Ajibola, a first-class traditional ruler in the state, died on Saturday in his palace at Erin-Ile in the Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State at the age of 81.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Saturday, Abdulrazaq said, “I send our heartfelt condolences to the immediate and extended families of the late first-class monarch as well as the good people of Erin-Ile and the Oyun Local Government Area on this sad development.
“We are comforted by the great legacies of the monarch.”
Also, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, described the death of Oba Ajibola as a monumental loss to the state and humanity in general.
The emir in his condolence message issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona, on Saturday, added the late monarch led his people for 41 years with commitments, dedication and fear of God.
