The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, stepped out with his wives to celebrate his brother, Adegboyega Ogunwusi (Sooko Laekun), as he turned 60.
The event started with a thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Anglican Church, Ile Ife, Osun State. On arrival, the celebrant danced in with his wife and well wishers who had come to felicitate him.
During the service, Venerable Sunday Jewoola emphasised the need to build one’s name in order to leave a legacy for the younger ones coming behind.
The service was followed by a reception, which held at the Ojaja Arena, Ife Grand Resort, in the historic city. At the event, which was attended by monarchs, family members and other dignitaries, the birthday boy was presented with a Range Rover SUV as a birthday gift.
Guests at the event include the father of the host, Aderopo Ogunwusi; his wife, Funmi; siblings, Adesola Soremekun and Folusho Kolawole; businesswoman and the Iyalaje Oodua, Toyin Kolade; Obalufe of Ife, Idowu Adediwura, the All Progressives Congress House of Representative’s candidate for the Ife Federal Constituency, Benjamine Adereti.
