Kadiri was dragged to court 24-hours after he blocked the gate to the State House of Assembly located in the governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
He was invited by the police on Wednesday, shortly after he was persuaded to take his car away from the entrance of the assembly.
Appearing before the Magistrates Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, Kadiri who resides at No 1 Maba Close Ago-Iwoye, was confronted with a two-count charge of threat to lives and causing breach of peace. He, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lawrence Olu-Balogun told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Tuesday at about 8:40 am at the Ogun State House of Assembly in Oke-Mosan.
Olu-Balogun said that the defendant came into the premises of the Ogun House of Assembly and threatened the lives of lawmakers and other staff of the Assembly by using his car to block the entrance gate of the House of Assembly.
He also alleged that the former deputy speaker did conduct himself in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace by mounting an attack which disrupted the lawmaking process of the assembly.
Olu-Balogun told the court that the defendant had been on suspension since March 2022.
The prosecutor said that the defendant told the police that the court had given a judgement asking him to resume as a lawmaker.
He said that the defendant claimed he came to resume office, going by the judgement delivered by the Ogun state High Court.
He added that when the defendant got to the premises of the assembly, the security operatives at the gate denied him of gaining entrance into the House of Assembly.
The prosecutor, however, noted that the offence committed contravenes sections 86(1) and 249(D) of the criminal code laws of Ogun 2006.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.O Osinbajo, admitted the defendant to bail by self-recognition.
She, however, adjourned the case to June 1, 2o23, for trial.
